Ponte Tresa is a premium rose grower company certified by Fair Trade this means that 10% of our certified sales go directly to our workers corporation.
Our workers corporation created some interesting programs using this premium money to help their fellow workers and their communities. The following are some stories of how these programs changed our workers lives.

My name is Martha Guatemal, I have been working at Ponte Tresa for eight years.
Can you tell us something about the Fair trade funded programs?
I have benefited from the housing program, business venture loans, education, and health programs.
The housing program has helped me make some renovations to my house, change the roof, and pave the floor of my patio. Also, I have a small rose greenhouse, I took a loan that helped me fund this project.
What are some benefits in terms of education?
In terms of education, this program has helped me with scholarships for my son who is in high school, he is seventeen years old, my daughter who goes to middle school she’s twelve years old and my youngest son is in first grade, he’s five years old. They all have scholarships. Through their scholarships, we can afford to buy the list of supplies, uniforms, and everything they need.
What are some benefits in terms of health insurance?
In terms of health insurance, this program has helped me and my children with medicine and appointments to the doctor, the programs have helped my entire family.

I feel happy because it’s a great company, with the premium money the company and the corporation has helped us with loans for everything that I needed.
